SOREN RASMUSSEN

Soren Rasmussen, old settler of Washington county, passed away at his home in Blair last Friday, September 7th, at the age of 76 years.

Deceased was born in Denmark, and came to America in 1883, and was married in 1889 to Catherina Oulund. After their marriage they settled on a farm near Kennard, and later moved to a farm in the Orum vicinity.

He was one of early members of the Lutheran church at Orum, and was a devout church man and he and his family were consistent church goers.

The family moved to Blair in 1918, and the following year the wife died. Since that time the home has been kept, one of the daughters keeping house for him. Four daughters: Mrs. Nellie Hastings, Mrs. Minnie Hundahl, Miss Marie at home and Miss Lillie of Chicago are left to mourn his death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the First Lutheran church of Blair, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
