Kicked by a Horse June 16th, Dies June 23 as Result

Mrs. Ed Hovendick of west of Herman died Friday, June 23, in the Immanuel hospital in Omaha. On Friday, June 16th, Mrs. Hovendick was kicked in the back by a horse. At first the injury was not considered serious, but she continued to grow worse and was taken to the Immanuel hospital in Omaha where every known remedy was administered, but without effect.

Besides the immediate family she leaves a mother, one sister and two brothers all living in Winside.

She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary of Herman, her husband and a brother both serving their country in France during the World War.

Funeral services were held at the home last Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and at the Herman Methodist church, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
