MRS. ANNA WRIEDT PASSED AWAY JAN. 24

CALHOUN - After an illness of about eight years, of which she was confined to her home four years, Mrs. Anna Dorothea Wriedt passed away at her home on Monday morning at two o’clock, January 24th.

She was born in Schoenberg, Germany March 14, 1873, and at the age of six years she came to this community with her parents and two sisters and one brother. A brother and a sister being born in America.

In the year 1890 she married John Henry Wriedt, and to this union were born eight children, five of whom preceded her in death as did her husband who passed away December 7th, 1930. They lived on a farm southwest of Fort Calhoun from the time of their marriage until 1909 when they moved to Fort Calhoun and resided here since that time.

Surviving are her son, John of Fort Calhoun, two daughters, Mrs. C. A. Stewart of South Sioux City and Mrs. M. D. Wagers of Emerson; four living grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Ketchmark of Fort Calhoun and Mrs. Charles Moeller of Blair; two brothers, William Steffen of Paxton, Nebraska and Henry Steffen of Fort Calhoun.

The finest tribute to Mrs. Wriedt is furnished by her neighbors who sincerely pronounce her a wonderful friend and neighbor as well as a wife and mother. All through her long state of illness, enduring much pain, she uncomplainingly accepted her lot.

The funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon of last week, conducted by Rev. T. A. Barton of Lincoln, a former pastor of the Presbyterian Church at South Sioux City. Burial was in Fort Calhoun cemetery.
