19 Jan. 1922 - The Enterprise - Harve Williamson

Harve Williamson passed away at his home here Saturday morning at 3 a.m. The deceased was sick only a few yours. He was uptown during the afternoon, and passed the time joking with friends, and after eating supper, at which they had company, he pushed back from the table declaring he never felt better in his life. About 12 o’clock he became very sick and Dr. Cameron was called and done all he could to relieve him. He complained of a severe pain around his heart, and in a couple of hours passed peacefully away.

Mr. Williamson was born in Monroe county, Ohio Mar. 3, 1848. He was the oldest of a family of thirteen children. He came to Herman in 1880 and has since resided here.

Besides the wife, there are left to mourn his death four daughters and one son. Mrs. Ed Fowell of Tekamah, Mrs. Fred Krogh of Blair, Holly, Mrs. Tom Gossard and Miss Florence, all of Herman. Two brothers, James Brady and Harry of Tekamah and two sisters, Mrs. Potter of Tekamah and Mrs. John Davis of Powell, Wyoming.

The deceased was a member of the M.E. church for a number of years and always a regular attendant.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o’clock at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Bowden, and burial was made in the Herman cemetery.

HARVE WILLIAMSON OF HERMAN DIES OF HEART TROUBLE

Harve Williamson of Herman died at his home shortly after midnight on the 13th inst., having been ill but an hour or two.

Mr. Williamson came home from town and retired and about midnight complained of being cold. His wife put hot irons around him and endeavored to get him warm, but his heart refused to function and he passed away as said above.

Mr. Williamson was well and favorably known throughout Washington county where he had been prominent in political and religious circles, and was an old resident of the county.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Herman on Monday and was attended by friends from all over the county.

On Saturday morning the community was shocked to hear of the death of one of its highly respected citizens, Harvey Williamson. He had enjoyed the best of health until the time of his death, taking ill about 12 o’clock and dying at 2 o’clock Saturday morning. As was his frequent custom he visited at the different business houses on Friday and some of his many friends. Harvey Williamson was born on March 3rd, 1848 in Monroe county, Ohio, where his family had lived for a good many years. He was the eldest of thirteen children, four of whom are still living; two brothers and two sisters. He was married in Monroe county on March 16, 1869 to Lucretia Lisk. He moved with his family to Nebraska in 1880, and settled in Washington county near Herman where he engaged in farming. He retired from the farm about 10 years ago and has since that time been living in Herman. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his departure into the better land. They are: Mrs. E. S. Fowle of Tekamah, Mr. Holly O. Williamson of Herman, Miss Florence Williamson of Herman, Mrs. F. I. Krogh of Blair, Mrs. Thomas B. Gossard of Herman. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Davis of Montana and Mrs. Joseph Potter of Tekamah; two brothers, James Brady and Harry Williamson, both of Tekamah. He leaves numerous other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his death. Mr. Williamson joined the Methodist church about forty years ago and has been a regular attendant ever since. He served on the board of trustees and board of stewards for many years and was a trustee at the time of his death. His life was filled with works of love. He died January 14th, 1922, aged 73 years, 10 months and 11 days.
