MRS. FRED RAY RITES THURSDAY

Mrs. Fred Ray of north of Herman died Tuesday morning in her home following a long, lingering illness.

She was born April 13, 1886 at Roscoe, Missouri and came to this county when a young woman where she married Fred Ray. All their married life they have resided in the Herman vicinity. No children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ray, and Fred is left alone to mourn his great loss.

Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church, and interment under the direction of Mortician Henry Truhlsen will be made in the Herman cemetery.

#2-16 Aug., 1951 - The Enterprise HOLD SERVICE FOR MRS. FRED RAY

Herman - Services were held for Mrs. Fred Ray at the Methodist church in Herman Thursday afternoon, August 9, conducted by Rev. Lester B. Richman, nephew of Mrs. Ray, of Jefferson City, Missouri. Mrs. Allen Rizer sang several solos with Mrs. T. R. Swanson at the piano. Burial was in the Herman cemetery. Pallbearers were Waldo Hancock, Dr. W. I. Nelson, Leo Chamberlain, Joe Bandur, Wilbur Conety and John Reyzlik. Elinor Moore was born in Ronoe, Missouri April 13, 1883, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Moore, and passed away at her home north of Herman August 7, 1951, age 68 years, 3 months and 25 days.

Elinor More and Fred Ray were united in marriage March 8, 1911 at Blair and lived near Herman all their forty years of married life, making a good home for two foster children, Ruth Valder, now Mrs. Puffer, and her brother, Darrel Valder, both of Blair.

Mrs. Ray was a patient sufferer for a number of years.

Those left to mourn her loss are her husband, Fred Ray, her children, Ruth Puffer and Darrel Valder, six sisters, Mrs. Ida Ramsom and Mrs. Ruth Reynolds of Walthill, Nebraska; Mrs. Rena Jenkins of Bozeman, Montana; Mrs. Kattie Richman of Billings, Montana; Mrs. Laura Cooper of Leon, Kansas; and Mrs. Lula Potter, Sioux City, Iowa. One brother, William Moore of Hyannis, Nebraska, many relatives and friends.
