Robert Lyman Romans died in Cheyenne, Wyoming on March 30th of spinal meningitis and spotted fever. He was a bridge carpenter and blacksmith by occupation, and was well known in this city where he was a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge and Blair Fire Department. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1867. His family moved to Burt county, Nebraska in 1869 when Roberts was two years old. They subsequently moved to Washington county where Mr. Romans had resided until his demise. Three brothers and two sisters survive the deceased, Walter, Charles and B. H. Romans who reside in Tekamah, and Mrs. Flora Conklin of Grand Island and Mrs. Laura Chadwick of this city. The funeral service was held in the Methodist church, and interment took place in the Blair cemetery, the members of the Blair Fire Department and the A.O.U.W. lodge escorting the remains of Mr. Romans to their last resting place.
