Charlotte Adelaide (Newton) (Mrs. John) Romans
Died on 11/1/1898
Buried in Blair Cemetery

The Pilot 10 Nov. 1898

The sad death of Mrs. John Romans occurred last Tuesday after an illness of a few days, being confined to her bed only since last Thursday night. But from the first, it was quite evident that death would claim her soon. She had the loving care of her daughter, Mrs. T. E. Chadwick of this city during her short illness, who realized that she was soon to lose her mother.

Deceased was sixty-seven years of age and has spent the past thirty years in Burt and Washington counties, having been a resident of Blair the past ten years.

She was a kind hearted wife and a loving mother, always ready to do anything to help those in trouble; in fact all who knew her loved her.

She leaves a husband and six children as immediate members of her family to mourn her loss, two girls and four boys – Mrs. T. E. Chadwick of this city, Mrs. A. T. Conkling of Central City, and four boys, one living at Craig, one at Cedar Bluffs, one in Burt County, and Rob, the youngest, living in this city.

The funeral was held at the house on east Grand Street this afternoon at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Geo. Williams officiating. The children were all here to attend the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery. The PILOT with the many friends of the family extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
