Bernard “Datty” D. Fitch, 78, of Blair died on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, at Church of Christ in Blair. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Bernard “Datty” D. Fitch was born on February 8, 1934, in Herman to Wallace "Squire" and Gladys (Gilliam) Fitch.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
Mr. Fitch was very active in Bible study and church work. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Fitch of Blair; children, Bryce Gordon, John Richard Fitch and Jackey Lee Fitch; sister-in-law Judy Fitch of Halstead, Kan.; brother-in-law, Milton Sorensen of Blair; cousin, Joe Fitch of Blair; five stepdaughters; one stepson; 23 step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodger Fitch; and sisters, Kathryn Sorensen and Joyce Fitch.
Memorials may be directed to the Open Door Mission.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
