Funeral Services Friday For John A. Wriedt

Funeral services were held Friday morning for John A. Wriedt, who passed away at the Blair Hospital on December 3rd, where he had undergone surgery about a week before. Sievers Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral rites, with services at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church under the direction of Reverend Keith Sackett. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Mr. Wriedt was 65 years old at the time of his death. He was born at Fort Calhoun, on March 19, 1909, and lived his entire life in the home where he was born. He graduated from Fort Calhoun High School with the Class of 1927. He was employed by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for forty three years, retiring in 1972, and he was a member of the Ft. Calhoun Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

John devoted many years of his life caring for his invalid mother. His friends knew him as courteous, kind, and considerate to everyone always having a smile and a cheerful word.

He is survived by his two sisters: Mrs. Clarence A. (Sophia) Stewart of South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Mrs. Merline D. (Maria) Wagers of Sonoma, California, and by two nieces and one nephew.
