ANNA RANN, 88, DIED JANUARY 10

Mrs. Anna Margaret Rann, 88, passed away January 10th at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital where she had been for the past two weeks.

She was born in Germany on January 30, 1874 and came to the United States at the age of eight, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Christian Jessen. They located in Iowa. She was married to Henry C. Rann and they and their family of four children moved to Omaha before coming to Blair in 1914.

Mr. Rann died in 1919. Mrs. Rann assisted her son Ed Rann in the restaurant business for many years until his death in 1935. She continued on with her work at “The Eat Shop” until she was more than 70 years of age.

Survivors are her three daughters, Mrs. Neil Anderson and Mrs. John Fitch of Blair and Mrs. Hilda Culver of Central City. Also 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Maggie Chambers of Blair is her sister.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church at 2 P.M. on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Gilbert Reiland will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. The Campbell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
