MRS. LAURA RASMUSSEN BURIED SEPTEMBER 20th

Mrs. Laura Christine (Kuhr) Rasmussen passed away at the Good Shepherd Home on September 17th at the age of 86 years.

She was born April 4, 1888, at Klemmensker, Bornholm, Denmark. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Janus Hansen Kuhre. She was baptized as a child and later confirmed in her Christian faith at Hasle, Bornholm. She also received her schooling in Denmark.

Laura Kuhre came to McNabb, Illinois, in 1907 and late moved to Lindsey, Nebraska. In 1912 she came to Blair and lived with the Dr. Murdoch family.

On April 6, 1913, she was married to H. Victor Rasmussen. They were the parents of a daughter, Ebba, and a son Raymond. They lived on a farm 4 miles southwest of Blair until they moved to Blair in 1926. Mr. Rasmussen was employed at the Blair Feed Mill for many years. He passed away December 5, 1950.

Mrs. Rasmussen became a resident at the Good Shepherd Home on July 31, 1964.

Survivors are her daughter, Ebba of Blair; her son, Raymond of O’Neill; a brother, Chris Kuhr of Blair; a sister, Marie Hansen of Bornholm, Denmark.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Burial was September 20th in the Blair Cemetery. The Bendorf Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Ervin Johnson, Viggo Berthelsen, Vern Dix, Darold Lindgren, Martin Kuhr, Jr., and Richard Kuhr.
