Donald Leslie Rasmussen, 85, of Blair died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Donald Leslie Rasmussen was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Blair, to Harold W and Hazel (Renshaw) Rasmussen.

He attended Rose Hill Country School and graduated from Blair High School.

He started farming after his graduation.

On Jan. 8, 1950, he married Ardith Andersen at the Methodist Church in Blair.

After the couple wed, they made their home on a farm in rural Kennard.

In 1955, the family moved to the family farm west of Blair. After his retirement, the couple made their home in Blair.

The couple enjoyed spending their winters in Texas. He restored several antique tractors as a hobby over the years. He was an involved member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum and served on the Board of Directors for Washington County Mutual.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith; daughter Donnelle (Jon) Lippincott of Des Moines, Iowa; sons Randall (Connie) Rasmussen of Blair and Kent Rasmussen of Blair; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Opal (Jack) Jensen of Arlington and Helen (Pat) Mallette of Blair; brother Bill (Gwen) Rasmussen of Blair; and sister-in-law Carol (David) Kuhr of Blair.
